EnviroOil's lubricating oils are produced from premium-grade botanicals (canola and sunflower) using a proprietary manufacturing technology (see the process). This special process gently extracts oils from the raw materials (botanicals) using nominal pressure, resulting in cooler processing temperatures than extrusion processes and without any distillation, harsh chemicals or synthetic ‘stripping.’ EnviroOil's proprietary oils retain naturally complementary antioxidants lost through traditional processing, and therefore have a naturally long shelf life without the need for artificial preservatives.

A number of different methods are used by various manufacturers to extract oil from plant materials. High-volume oil expeller methods utilize mechanical pressure and friction, generating temperatures of 185° Fahrenheit or higher, while other techniques employ petroleum-based chemical solvents (hexane) or alcohol. Each of these methods causes major physical and chemical changes in the natural botanical oils. Additionally, some of these harsh processing techniques may leave traces of undesirable chemical residues in the final ingredient.

All EnviroOil lubricant oils are made using a proprietary solvent free cold press technology to process materials under moderately-high pressures and very low temperatures in an inert atmosphere during extraction and bottling to help prevent oxidation.
